The Hewlett 50 Arts Commission Passport for 2017 includes information on the ten musical compositions which were awarded grants in 2017.
The Hewlett 50 Arts Commission Passport was given to audience members as a tangible souvenir of the World Premiere performance of the Internet Archive & DJ Spooky's QUANTOPIA: The Evolution of the Internet which premiered on January 25, 2019, 7:30pm at Yerba Buena Center for The Arts Theater, San Francisco. Audience members were encouraged to stamp their passports with Internet Archive's logo to record their attendance.
Launched in 2017 in honor of the Hewlett Foundation’s 50th anniversary, the five-year, $8 million initiative awards 10 commissions annually in five performing arts disciplines. These artworks will bring communities together in the Bay Area and go on to inspire, engage, and challenge audiences across the country and around the world in years to come.
